Sore Throat: “When applied directly upon the throat, oregano oil rapidly eliminates pain and inflammation, plus it quickly destroys the causative organism,” says Dr. Ingram.
Treatment protocol: Add a few drops of oil of wild oregano to salt water and gargle several times daily. Take five or more drops of the oil under the tongue two to five times daily. (full protocol on page 159)
Runny Nose: “Studies show that molds are the cause of a wide range of sinus symptoms, including runny nose, post nasal drip, acute sinus infections, and stuffy sinuses as well as chronic sinusitis itself,” says Dr. Ingram. Treatment protocol: Inhale the wild oregano oil frequently, place a drop or two of oil of on the skin next to the nose; consume it under the tongue, five or more drops twice daily. Flu: “Influenza viruses are highly vulnerable to the powers of wild spice oils and also other spice oils from plantation- or farm-raised plants such as oils of cinnamon, allspice, and cumin. Dr. Ingram says that it is important to realize that wild oregano for medicinal purposes is not the same as the one found in the spice section of the grocery store or the type found in pizza.
“Medicinal grade oregano arises from unique species of plants which grow wild throughout the world,” says Dr. Ingram. “The highest grades are found in the Mediterranean, where it is native and naturally grows wild.”
